9 Passenger SUV’s Guide

Large SUV’s has been one of the most popular types of vehicles for consumers in the last 20 years. The main reason behind the popularity of these large vehicles is its all-around versatility. They provide a sense of security, by having the feeling of being in a bigger vehicle than other passenger cars and trucks. In addition, they have a multi-purpose capability from transporting seven or more adults, to hauling large objects, and to providing the ability to tow trailers or campers. There are several different models that provide seating capacity for 7 to 8 passengers, but the choices become fewer, when you’re seeking a 9 passenger SUV. Luckily, those few are well respected and known for their dependability, cargo space, and overall comfortable ride. Here are the three most popular 9 passenger SUV’s on the market.

GMC Yukon Denali XL

The first one is the GMC Yukon Denali XL, GMC is well known for making dependable vehicles, and the GMC Yukon Denali is no exception. This vehicle is large with tremendous interior space with over 137.4 cubic feet, and a 40/20/40 split front bench seat, which allows the Denali to accommodate nine passengers. The Denali itself is the class of the Yukon models, which features 20-inch alloy wheels, blind-spot monitoring system, power lift gate, and tri-zone automatic climate control, to name some of the excellent features. The Denali is also loaded with power as it features a 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out an impressive 403 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. This is more than enough power to transport a large family and a camping trailer or boat. Another excellent feature for this SUV is its safety rating. It received a four out of five star rating during government crash tests, with frontal and side protection, receiving a perfect five star rating. Overall, the Denali sets itself in a class of its own with smooth ride technology, transport ability, and excellent towing capacity.

Chevrolet Tahoe

The next nine passengers SUV is the Chevrolet Tahoe. Chevrolet actually sports two models that have the capability to transport nine passengers, but the Tahoe stands alone based on performance and gas mileage. The Tahoe is one of very few, large SUV’s that has a Hybrid model, which offers an almost perfect solution, large passenger capacity and great fuel economy. The Tahoe has three base models, LS, LT and LTZ, which only the LS model features nine passenger capability. The Tahoe comes with many luxury standard features, such as, power-adjustable pedals, climate control, and heated seats. The Tahoe features a standard 5.3-liter V8 engine, with the Hybrid having a 6.0-liter V8 engine. Both engines deliver around 320 horsepower and towing capacity of over 8,000 pounds. In addition, the Tahoe is surprisingly easy to drive with car-like handling and responsive steering, which will allow any new driver to comfortably maneuver this vehicle.

Chevrolet Suburban

The third nine passengers SUV is also from the Chevrolet Company and it is the Suburban. The Suburban has been around since 1936, it has gone through many model renovations and upgrades, but the Suburban’s purpose remains the same, to transport people. The Suburban comes in three different base models: LS, LT, and LTZ, which if you’re seeking the nine passenger capability you need to choose the LS model with split bench seating. Each model also comes with its own version of a V8, from the 5.3-liter to the 6.0-liter, each packing over 320 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. As for towing capacity the suburban, properly equipped can support up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. The Suburban is also loaded down with standard features, such as, tri-zone climate controls, power-adjustable pedals, power seats and mirrors. They also have an extensive options package to include better entertainments to include a DVD entertainment system, and of course all Chevy’s come equipped with their excellent OnStar program.

Those are the three models that feature nine passenger capabilities. As you can see, there are not many types of SUV’s with nine passenger options, but the ones that do offer it are all impressive vehicles. The only disadvantage with each of these vehicles is the price, as the average cost can range from $46,000 to $55,000 depending on trim level and option packages. However, many would agree that these vehicles are worth every penny because of their performance, space, and versatility.
