2014 Nissan Xterra
While the Pathfinder carves its new niche as a cushy crossover, word has it that the Nissan Xterra will still rest upon the Frontier’s truck chassis. That’s desirable news for off-road fans, since the Frontier has been a popular seller as of late, and that will work well in conjunction to keep the new model less costly.
The only downside for Nissan SUV clientele is that as the market follows the demand for more fuel efficiency .The strong chassis a rugged SUV needs is being substituted for lighter ones. The problem for Nissan is being able to increase the fuel economy of the engines they implement, while keeping costs down in the process. There have been rumors that Nissan has been working in tandem with Mercedes, which could mean diesel engines might be in the near future for Nissan.
2014 Acura MDX
The unveiling of the 2014 MDX at the New York International Auto show was a welcome sight for luxury SUV enthusiasts. The new design leaves much to be beheld, as it has not changed much since last year’s model, just mostly smoothed out edges. All in all the design is pleasing, but nothing we haven’t seen before. The good news is the MDX has lightened by about 275 pounds, which makes it more efficient, and that’s what the market demands.
Underneath the hood does not offer many changes, still sporting the 3.5L V-6 with 287 horsepower. The newest implementation is the Integrated Dynamic System which grants the driver to opt between normal, sport and comfort settings.

The 2014 Dodge Durango is still one of the more middle of the road SUV’s available, designed for hauling, and off-road applications. It’s a good compromise between off-road capabilities, and fuel economy. It’s not the first choice for either of the aforementioned applications; instead it is a happy medium.

The 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is the one the newest most popular SUV’s to hit the market in the last few years, in fact the vehicle manufacturing plant is pushing them out 24/7 to keep up with demand. In 2014 Land Rover hasn’t released anything new about the upcoming model, but it’s not as if they need to change much.
The Evoque sports a nine speed automatic shift-box, meaning that it is more often in the right gear at the right time, plus it’s always nice to boast that your SUV has nine gears. The shift-box also provides 10 percent better fuel economy than its six-speed predecessor. All-in-all the Evoque is something to be beheld both presently, and in the future.
